Opening 2014
I am a regular since re-opening. (2019 update) This place has video rooms , dark room upstairs; computers, massive spa (jacuzzi) open showers then downstairs the sling room and more rooms. I find the staff approachable and helpful. Never had any issues with them even when I have needed their help. Place clean. Wide variety of ages, mostly ? Bears but do find younger clientele starting to visit more. As far as bathhouses go which I have visited in many countries and SYDNEY this is worth a visit. After reading all the other reviews, I have to say , remember it’s not a 5 star hotel and you are getting an experience that you are paying for, so I really can’t complain, even trying to find something negative. Much better than the the other saunas in Sydney.
Much better than Bodyline
There were a few hot men at the lunch noon special. I got my nut. It worked out. But to say that Bodyline is an ugly step-sister of Sydney Sauna is being awafully nice to ugly step-sister a everywhere. There is absolutely no design in the place, save for the newer shower area upstairs. However the ceiling of this newer shower area has loose panels coming off the ceiling. The place is filthy. From the mineral buildup on the steps to the spa, to the lichen covered formerly white chair on the sun deck. I got there are 12 noon when they opened. The rooms or cubicles, had trash in them from last night. This place is obviously surviving by the fact that hornet men don't care about anything but getting off. Conversely, I was at Sydney Sauna a few days ago. Honestly, quality construction, and well used material. Well thought out floor plan. Beautiful spa, tile work and lighting. Seamless flooring that gets mopped. I'll go back to Sydney Sauna, but not Bodyline. I have 1 minor and 1 major complaint about Sydney Sauna. The steam room, although very clean and good design, is a little small. That's splitting hairs to find a complaint. Now the big one. SS is missing huge advertising opportunities, by not selling their T shirts. We were told that they are just for employees. I'd proudly wear one out to the bars back home letting people know my endorsement.
I use to like here but seems all the hairy larger silver daddy's are now at 357 sauna in china town.
Not good.
My partner and I visited the place in 2015 after renovations were done. There are so many issues with this place its difficult to find any positives. The layout is all over the place and doesn't make sense. The rooms are small and I found it difficult to use as I'm over 6ft. (my foot kept hitting the door). I believe the renovation were designed to bring in some of bodyline's clients as they are close to each other. It hasn't worked though, as when we visited it was full with the same type of clients from pre-renovation, old regulars that believe they own the place. (attitude and all). I didnt find the staff that helpful either. We stood in the bar area for a while to see what was on offer and were ignored by staff. We staying for less than an hour and haven't been back since. I feel sorry for the new owners as they have spent a lot of money on the renovation but it just doesn't work.
