Jonathan Messer's intimate documentary It's Not Just Me follows four Aussie transgender men living in Perth on their journey of F2M transition.
David is a cheeky, self-confessed nerd who loves Star Trek and high heels. His mother is encouraging but unfortunately the same can't be said for the neighbourhood kids. Simon, too, is embarking on his journey and has a supportive girlfriend, George, but his father and brother are struggling to adjust to losing âSophie'. We follow both men over an intense period of months, from their very first injections, as they talk candidly about their own physical and emotional transformations, and the ups and downs of personal relationships. Max, meanwhile, is followed over the course of a single, ordinary day, while Logan films intimate and emotional footage of his home life.
Together these four men's stories illuminate the often neglected, less visible issue of female to male transition.
