Lifeguards in budgie smugglers (Speedos), sunbathing on white sand under endless sun. No, that's not heaven. That's Bondi Beach. Gay men and lesbians have traditionally hung out at the north end of the beach and the grass along the beachside, making it their own. The further north you go, the gayer and skimpier the attire becomes. This is a place where you can get everything from ice cream and hotdogs to a date. Alcohol is the only no-go at this location, but not to worry; the beach is lined with pubs, and cocktail bars!

lovely afternoon
Definitely head to the far end of the beach, there are pretty people everywhere, but it's also a terrific view and a great way to enjoy the sun and sand.
Beautiful Bondi
Great day out at Bondi Beach, but as a tourist I found it a little unusual that you were not allowed to drink on the beach. However, there are enough cafes on the boardwalk behind.
The beach in the world
Mix is the word! This is a beach that youll see the world go by! You have the main beach for families and mainly straight guys n girls. Plenty of good looking well defined guys on this section. Further into North Bondi is where The Gay boys and girls can be found what a sea of beautiful bodies to look at all mascully and naked... Well some choose to sunbathe naked which i prefer coz No ugly tan lines 'it SO 80s lol'. lined near the beach are restaurants, bar and cafes that serve the flavours of Australia and the world so come and enjoy the view xx
...NORTH Bondi
The further North you go the gayer it gets! American boy living in Sydney here. The whole beach isn't gay like you might think from reading the article. South Bondi (like bond-eye) is mostly heterosexuals and families. Best beach in Sydney for seeing hot boys, the gay ones anyway. Mix of mostly gay men, lots of young toned guys but some bears and "Muscle Marys" (their word) too. A bit far away from Bondi's main drag but the area surrounding north bondi is more like an up-and-coming gay village with good, trendy restaurants starting to open up. If you're here during "Gay Mardi Gras" pride in march, they have cool events on the beach. It's personally my favorite beach in Sydney along with neighboring Tamarrama (also known as "Glamor-ama") which is not as gay or as touristy as north bondi but is still popular with gay men.
The huge beach in Sydney
This is a wide stretch of beach; not my favorite since I prefer a cozier beach further south (like Coogee or Tamarama). Still, lots of eye candy and bar options (almost exclusively straight, though) along the strand.
