Werrong Beach

(5 Ratings)
Australia's first national park/beach
Approximately 40 km south of Sydney near Stanwell Park is Werrong Beach, set in the Royal National Park. Gazetted in 1879, this was Australia's first National Park and only the second in the world. From Sydney take the Princes Highway south to the F6 Freeway, and follow the signs toward Stanwell Park until you turn left to Otford Lookout. Go past the Royal National Park sign and park beyond the shop. From here walk up the good path to the Werrong Beach and Burning Palms Clifftop Walk. The path then descends steeply to Werrong Beach.

If you are into some exercise, park at Garrawarra Farm, and walk down the track south, until you get to the signposted turnoff to Werrong Beach. The track is pretty steep, and keep in mind that it's a tough walk back up. The beach is nice, plenty of sand, and some grassy areas. it's a great spot for having lunch, in the nude. Then back up the steep track, and back to the car.

Beautiful beach

Today was our first time at Werrong beach. After a 30 min steep walk through the bush, we arrived a this secluded spot. The views were amazing, the sea was great for a swim and the crowd was very sexy..... Luved it!

Beautiful clothing optional beach

It may be a trek to get to this beach down the escarpment through the forest but the journey as so worth it. An isolated beach with a lovely back drop and crystal clear water.
