Raising the dramatic power of Antony and the Johnsons to new electronic heights with her fifth album HOPELESSNESS, Vivid LIVE celebrates a seismic chapter in one of New York’s most singular musical voices of the 21st Century with a series of immersive, sense-shifting performances.
Revered for her past work I Am A Bird Now, The Crying Light and Swanlights, ANOHNI's new release is a collaboration with Hudson Mohawke (TNGHT, Kanye West) and Warp’s Oneohtrix Point Never with room-shuddering effect. Drawing comparisons to Radiohead's artistic call-to-arms in Kid A, the enigmatic Sydney favourite is set to enter a lineage of protest classics since releasing the world-warning single '4 Degrees'.
Now presenting one of her most ambitious performances yet, Anohni will explore anthemic songwriting, dance physicality, and audio-visual appearance in the intimate surrounds of the Joan Sutherland Theatre at Vivid LIVE.
