Queer Screen and Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras have joined together to present a unique event at The Harbour's beautiful outdoor screen.
Sunset drinks and DJ Kate Monroe from 5.30pm + special performance

Pop singer Madonna rapidly became a gay icon during her rise to fame in the early 80s, and she’s remained one to this day. With her daring costumes, ridiculously excessive videos, catchy tunes, and a sexuality she unashamedly owned, it’s not hard to see why. Her Blonde Ambition tour took the world by storm, having sold more than 300 million records worldwide, as well as being an actress and businesswoman, her legendary status was set.
This 25th anniversary screening celebrates the life of this most revered idol! In Bed with Madonna, shot during the Blonde Ambition Tour, and screening at Cannes in 1991, was the highest grossing documentary of its time.
In this intimate, all-access film, we follow Madonna through health troubles, as she loses her voice on tour, through a difficult return to her home town of Detroit, and through tension with then-partner Warren Beatty. Most notable is a show in Toronto, where Madonna and her team are told she will be arrested if she performs the simulated masturbation scene at the end of Like a Virgin.
Alek Keshishian (W.E., Love and Other Disasters) has an incredible talent for shooting live music. Having worked primarily on music videos, including Madonna’s Like a Virgin and Holiday, Keshishian turns a subtle hand to this exploration of the most vulnerable parts of this confident diva.
