The Diagrammatic Organ
Having only just completed his MFA research project on ‘Imaginary Science’, Jack Stahel is keen to present 'The Diagrammatic Organ'. A new body of work that continues his ongoing investigation into how the mind thinks about itself.
The act of drawing always finds itself somewhere between human-made tools and actions, and the organic processes of a natural organ. Tools, objects and actions,
are unavoidably integrated into our cognitive processes, impacting how those processes unfold, as well as how those processes understand themselves.
Within the action of drawing a hypothesis, the organic and the constructed coalesce, and can begin to find ways of making sense of each other.
