In arguably the funniest film of the festival, BFFs Kat and Sam are gifted a weekend away to a couples retreat; the only problem is that they are straight and not a couple. Could a weekend of intensive workshops with gay and straight couples reveal something they have been denying for years?
The film features a fantastic cast of recognisable faces, including Australian screen legend Sigrid Thornton (SeaChange, The Man from Snowy River) playing Jacqueline, one of the hosts of the "Closer to Closeness" retreat. She is joined by openly gay actor Sean Maher (Firefly, Serenity) playing J.K, who along with his boyfriend Jonah, visit the retreat to confirm fatherhood is for them.
A dramedy with heart and laughs that has played at over 30 LGBTIQ film festivals, winning a number of Audience Awards, this hilarious comedy is destined to be a festival favourite.
Queer Screen is honoured to have Australia’s own Sigrid Thornton as a festival guest and she will be participating in a Q&A after the March 1st screening, which will surely make it a night not to be missed!
