HIJINKS, Sydney’s only underwater event, takes over SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium on FRIDAY THE 13TH of March 2015, inviting guests to dress up and experience an underwater House of Horrors.
A few times each year HIJINKS brings to life the underwater tunnels of the aquarium with pop-up bars, performances, comedy, crafts workshops, games and the chance to learn about Australia’s marine life from conservation experts.
This Friday the 13th, the Aquarium is re-imagined into a House of Horrors, featuring live sideshow acts by Dangerboy, Twisted Fortune Telling with performance artist Celia Curtis, live horror-themed AV set by Michela Ledwidge (.M.) and Stuart Ridley (emagica). Gory face painting by The Make-up Wardrobe and a Ouija Board room in which spirits will be raised from the dead will also feature at the event. Audiences can create evil eye talismans in the crafts room with Kaila Perusco, and play horror film trivia, guest-starring Madame Tussaud’s Alfred Hitchcock.
Tickets include a complimentary Little Creatures beer or Stoli vodka cocktail on arrival and Blind date tickets are also available for those looking to meet new people underwater on the scariest day of the calendar year!
Visitors will be able to get up close and personal with sharks, penguins and dugongs and marine biologists will be on hand to chat about the SEA LIFE Trust’s conservation efforts and their campaigns against shark culling and shark netting.
