Sydney’s favourite prehistoric party is set to take on a new sparkle in 2015 with the announcement of a limited edition Jurassic Lounge Mardi Gras party at the Australian Museum.
A few nights each year, once the doors have closed to the public, Jurassic Lounge takes over the Australian Museum, granting its audience unique after-hours access to dinosaurs, precious gemstones, and groundbreaking exhibitions such as Garrigarrang: Sea Country which explores Indigenous connections to the sea.
A highlight event of the official Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras program for 2015, JURASSIC LOUNGE: MARDI GRAS transforms Sydney’s wildest venue into a colourful party celebrating Sydney’s vibrant queer culture. Inspired by the galleries and collections, performers, artists, scientists and comedians remix the Museum into a surprising playground for 2,000 grown-ups.
Jurassic Lounge is a chance to sample acts and speakers from the Mardi Gras program, alongside red hot artists such as drag performer Carmen Geddit, Diesel Darling (and her pet python Claudia), DJ Sveta, and performers from Sydney’s favourite underground queer party, Unicorns. Also back are Jurassic Lounge staples, including the Silent Disco, Date Roulette, photo booths, live reptiles, and much much more.
