The exhibition sprang from Melbourne based artist Damien Hinds who found when when he stated “I prefer the company of men,” was a more elegant way of coming out. It allows for a fresh rebranding of homosexual identities.

The Company of Men is an exhibition that brings together a roll call of stellar artists exploring masculinities, homoeroticism and togetherness. The exhibition sprang from Melbourne based artist Damien Hinds who found when when he stated “I prefer the company of men,” was a more elegant way of coming out. It allows for a fresh rebranding of homosexual identities.
Each artist bring their own oeuvre to showcase works across three landmark creative venues along the golden mile. Including photography, illustration, performance and a few surprises; The Oxford Hotel, Platform 72 and the Oxford Art Factory invite you to take an art pilgrimage along the street.
Evocative as the march itself, this exhibition is a true celebration of men who like The Company of Men.

The Underground hosts drinks and art viewing. Meet the Sydney Artists and mingle over some art that titliates and delights. Art works appear across the various venues of The Oxford Hotel. The Underground, Gingers and Polo Lounge thru the Mardi Gras Season.
